The Dino Senesi Golf Tournament History
The Dino Senesi Golf Tournament was established in 1995 to raise money for the Boys and Girls Club of Elizabethton/ carter County. Over the next 13 years the Dino Senesi golf tournament has raised more than $265,000 to suppport the children in our community.
The tournament is named after Dino Senesi, a local businessman. Dino opened Dino's Restaurant in the 1950's and quickly became a integral part of the community. He recognized more than 40 years ago what a difference the Boys and Girls Club can make in the lives of young people. He served on the Board of Directors for more than 30 years and raised thousands of dollars for the kids of this community. Dino Senesi is legendary for his world famous lasagna and spaghetti, but even more well-known for his commitment to the Boys and Girls Club.
The tournament relies on sponsorships from local businesses to continue its success. there are many sponsors who have been with us from the beginning.
- Citizens Bank has donated the shirts and hats for the tournament every year. This gives us the opportunity to give every participant a very nice golf shirt embroidered with the Boys and Girls club logo and the Dino Senesi Tournament Seal, as well as a hat professional embroidered with a matching logo. The Dino Senesi Golf shirt has become a symbol of support for the Boys and Girls Club.
- Carter County Bank has also been a corporate sponsor for since the beginning of the tournamnet, donating thousands of dollars and countless volunteers for the tournament.
- Outback Steak House has provided the finest dining experience you will find at any golf tournament. Each year Outback shows up witha truck load of food and volunteers and cooks ribs, chicken, potatoes, salad, bread and drinks. Some golfers say that this is the only reason they show up.
